THE seven-member local gospel ensemble — the Instrumental Sooth Ultimate (TISU) — has described its recent trip to Mozambique a huge success and learning curve in it spirited bid to grow the brand.
The Dangamvura-based group was recently in Beira where it met established gospel counterpart Worship Life to build synergies and glean ideas on how they can break into the international music arena, among other things.
The groups will this month tour Botswana where they will meet and share the stage with various artistes.
Worship Life is led by its founder Washey Wilton.
The group’s manager Israel Chivhu said they will release a musical project by mid-year.
The outfit provides entertainment at functions like birthday parties, graduations, corporate functions and dinners, among others.
“The trip was worthwhile. We are merging with them on a number of projects that are going to take us around Southern Africa this year. We learnt a lot. The universal language of music brought us together. And as a group we managed to fulfil one of our core mandates to preach beyond border through music as well as our country’s cultural etiquettes abroad, fusing it with other cultures. Our broad and diverse skills and talents make us complement each other. It was an exchange of soul rooted love, unity and purpose of existence as children of God.
“Locally we have a lot of talented artistes and we also have to learn a lot from our regional counterparts in terms of, among other things, compositions, instrumentation and communication with the audience,” he said.
