Innocent Kurira at LUVEVE STADIUM
MANICA Diamonds registered a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League fourth win on the trot after snatching a 1-0 victory on the road against Arenel Movers at Luveve Stadium this afternoon.
Farai Banda headed home a Thubelihle Jubane corner kick in the 55th minute to seal all the three points for the visitors.
Besides the goal, the two teams struggled to create any clear-cut chances in front of goal.
Arenel Movers were the first to have a sniff at goal, with Grant Chingwenhese setting up Kudzaishe Dzingwe, who could not get his shot from inside the box on target.
Njabulo Ngwenya had an opportunity to strike after a free-kick from just outside the centre circle, but his effort crashed against the opponents’ defence wall.
In the second half, substitute, Grey Kufandada saw a loose ball fall on his path, but he could not find the target from close range.
From then, the visitors were content with trying to catch the hosts on the break, while holding on to their lead.
The move paid off as they snatched all the three points on the day.
