Yours Truly could not help, but kept reminiscing this after learning of a new breed of big spenders in town who are splashing the scarce green bucks in different public spaces around the city.
They are buying beer like there is no tomorrow, while others are buying flashy cars that we all know will soon be difficult for them to maintain.
On the other hand, Jezebel sisters around the city have suddenly found a convenient source of cash in these generous dear brothers of ours who recently hit the jackpot.
For the benefit of those who could be wondering who exactly Yours Truly is blabbering about, read on.
It is none other those few officers who were recently redeployed back into our beautiful city after spending two months away in that other well-known border town.
It appears that they made a fortune during their two months stay there and only God knows how this money was ‘earned’.
Now that they are back in our beloved city, armed with different amounts of green bucks and our dear comrades seem to be covering up for the lost time when they used to sit and watch Blabber and his moneyed friends enjoying.
Reminiscent of diamond dealers who spent their money on drinking binges and women of loose morals, our dear officers are competing against themselves in ‘making it rain’.
Not even the current lockdown regulations are deterring them from having a time of their lives in different pubs around the city.
Sad how people never learn!
No wonder even the Bible noted that ‘my people die because of lack of wisdom’.
Blabber is informed that there is few, however, among these officers who are making the most of this dirty money.
Yours Truly hopes that those wasting on useless things will soon come to their senses and start doing the right thing.
It will surely hurt them so deeply when they finally exhaust the money without anything tangible in their possession.
Yours Truly hopes that they will consider this genuine friendly advice and not scorn.
After all, the only thing that we know about money is that it disappears with time, especially when misused!
