THIS year’s Manicaland Agricultural Show – which is being rolled out with a business approach – has seen a total of 110 exhibitors, compared to the 2019 edition of the event which had 145.

This year’s event, which kicked off yesterday, is running under the theme: “Building resilience towards a new era”.

In her keynote address, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Nokuthula Matsikenyere, who was represented at the event by director in her office Mr Luck Basopo, said: “This year’s edition of the agricultural show comes after a season of bumper harvest.

“The transformation of livelihoods for the attainment of Vision 2030 that we seek is based on an agro-centric approach to development as over 70 percent of our population is involved in agriculture,” she said.

With low-key entertainment activities in compliance with the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, the annual exhibition fete ends on Sunday.
