BUMPING into used condoms in a bush near his homestead, saw a Mutare man teaming up with his brothers to chase away his wife, accusing her of infidelity.

Willard Moyowakafa teamed up with his brothers, Raymond and Lovemore to kick out Rudo Nyamana over unfounded infidelity allegations.

They accused her of teaming up with her sister-in-law (Lovemore’s wife) to use the bush as their love nest with their boyfriends.

After being shown the exit door, Nyamana approached the Mutare Magistrates Civil Court, applying for a protection order against the three siblings.

She said the brothers framed her just to get rid of her as bad blood exists between her and Raymond and Lovemore.

“We stay at the same homestead. I did not do anything wrong to deserve divorce as a punishment. Raymond and Lovemore have turned my husband against me. At first, my husband stood by me and would spring to my defence until when they fed him with malice. They said I had bewitched him, a reason why he always defended me. He started neglecting me. I am now being accused of infidelity though they have no proof.

“They accused me of having extra marital affairs, but I am innocent. My son lied to his uncle, Raymond that he saw a man coming out of my matrimonial bedroom. You know kids make up stories. Naturally, my son is a liar. He is very mischievous, but they took his word seriously,” said Nyamana.

She said Raymond confronted her over the allegations, but she dismissed them.

“Raymond could not buy my explanation and he ended up beating me up. I had to run to my mother’s home to escape the beating. I came back home and told my husband what had happened. My husband confronted Raymond over the issue and told him in no uncertain terms never to raise his hand on me again,” said Nyamana.

She said on the same day, her sister-in-law (Lovemore’s wife) was also sent packing on the same unfounded extra marital affairs allegations.

The blame was apportioned on Nyamana again.

“The same day, Lovemore sent his wife packing. She was badly assaulted. Lovemore argued that his wife was having an extra-marital affair because he had seen some used condoms in a nearby bush. I don’t know how they came to the conclusion that we had used the condoms with our boyfriends. They accused me of influencing Lovemore’s wife to have a boyfriend. She had to leave her 20-year-old marriage because of these frivolous allegations,” said Nyamana.

She also said the Moyowakafa family also had a meeting where it was resolved that she should leave the homestead without any evidence to nail her against the infidelity allegations.

“My husband has turned his back on me and now siding with his siblings. They have resolved to chase me away. They descended on my home and beat me up, while throwing my property outside. If my husband no longer loves me, he should take me back to my parent’s home. I should not be chased away like a rabid animal, after all we have been married for 10 years. They do not have any evidence of the infidelity allegations they are accusing me of.

“When I gave my husband the protection order summons, he texted me saying he no longer loves me and that I should move on with my life. Customarily, he should take me back to my parents’ home and give me a divorce token,” said Nyamana.

In response, Willard said if granted, the protection order will see Nyamana staying put at his home, yet she should leave because of her infidelity.
