“INDEED charities are (to be given out) for the poor and the needy.” (Chapter 9 : 60)
The Almighty has indeed blessed every person in one way or another. However, many a time because we are engaged in complaining about anything and everything, we tend to overlook this reality.
One such blessing is that of our daily provision and sustenance.
Whatever our financial or economic status we should understand that there are always people who are less fortunate than us.
Seriously pondering on the plight of such people will teach us many important lessons of life.
First, by looking at their standard of living, their difficulties, their joy just upon meeting their basic necessities and so on, we will learn to be appreciative of what we have.
Also by looking at the fact that at times they work much harder than us yet earn much less, we should develop sincere gratitude.
The Almighty for having blessed us with what we have and the fact that we are able to earn in an easier manner.
Further, it is part of being thankful to share a portion of whatever little we may have, with those who may be less fortunate than us.
It is our duty, no matter what bracket we fall into, to assist those in need and try to put a smile on their faces.
This must be done with a sense of understanding that we are not really doing those needy people a favour, but rather we are fulfilling our duty.
The Almighty and serving His cause. This will definitely bring about greater good in our lives, from The Almighty.
We should also teach our children, from an early age, to carry out such acts of charity so that they too will be nurtured with the correct attitude and the appropriate morals of life.
