MUTARE is counting down for arguably the gig of the year as South African diva, Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, popularly known as Makhadzi, will be performing for the first time in the eastern border city at Manicaland Motoring Club on April 7.

As fever grips, some interesting details pertaining the mega show have emerged.

The most expensive ticket will cost US$2 000 for a table of 10.

This will be a corporate package where a company will get a designated area where they can display their products.

Under this package, revellers will have complimentary greater access to performing artiste as well as complementary drinks, including whiskies, among other privileges.

The package will also see revellers having their designated host and ablution facilities.

A standard ticket will go for US$10, while a VIP ticket will cost US$20. A VVIP ticket will cost US$50.

The event starts at 4pm till the next morning.

Also known as the Queen of Limpopo, Makhadzi will be supported by an equally entertaining team of local musicians who have enough arsenal to fire up the event which is expected to draw thousands of night lifers from across the country.

Zim-dancehall artiste Killer T, talented singer Andy Muridzo, hip-hop artiste Voltz JT, as well as Chillspot duo Levels and Fantan are supporting acts.

The gig is also a chance to shine for Mutare-based artistes Caff, Assegai Crew, Swat Sound, Expression Band, Sunrise Band, Silver Vee and Candyman who are also slated to perform at the gig.

This is the first time that Makhadzi will be performing in the city and the last time she performed in the country was in Kadoma where she mesmerised fans and left them clamouring for more.

She has a rich discography and some of her popular songs include ‘Murahu’, ‘Mjolo’, ‘Energy’, ‘Ghanama’ and the anthemic ‘Magear’.

The show organiser and seasoned promoter, Partson Chimboza, fondly known as Chipaz, this week revealed that the event is unique in many ways as it will cater for individuals as well as corporates.

He said preparations for the event are at an advanced stage.

He quashed security fears, saying all is in place to ensure that revellers will be safe in and outside the venue.

“We are excited with the response the show has received so far, especially on social media. This week we have started distributing posters so that those who are not on social media platforms will also be aware of the event.

“The event will accommodate everyone, from an ordinary ticket holder to corporates and individuals who may prefer to purchase a corporate package where they will have a lot of privileges and be able to watch the show freely and without any disturbances.

“They will have special treatment, including mixing and mingling with the artiste.

“They will also be able to be provided some drinks and food, among other things. We are also planning to avail advanced tickets. We aim to have a violence free event where revellers will have undiluted fun without any regrets,” said Chimboza.

The last time a show of a similar magnitude was held at the venue, it was packed to the brim, with Jah Prayzah not disappointing.
