THE Zimbabwe national women’s football team are confident of overpowering Botswana’s Zebras when the two sides clash tomorrow at the National Sports Stadium in the last qualifying round for a slot at Africa Women Cup of Nations finals.
Mighty Warriors coach Sithethelelwe Sibanda and her charges will go out for a positive result to take into the reverse tie scheduled for Wednesday next week in Francistown.
Zimbabwe hit top gear with their preparations following the arrival on Tuesday of skipper Emmaculate Msipa who plies her trade in Turkey.
Others stars Rudo Neshamba, Danai Bhobho and Berita Kabwe, who are based in Israel, Tanzania and Nigeria respectively, have also joined camp.
Sibanda expressed satisfaction with their preparations and declared that they are ready for the duel.
“Looking at the training sessions, the progression has been quite great. The most important thing is to be able to manage the game and win,” she said.
Team captain Msipa expressed confident of victory.
Said Msipa: “We are going to do our very best to qualify. From what I am seeing from the girls, they are ready.”
The top four teams from the Africa Women Cup of Nations are on from July 2 to July 23 in Morocco.
