ZANU PF Women’s League secretary for administration, Cde Monica Mutsvangwa recently distributed various goods to party members in Chimanimani, including bicycles for the local chiefs.

Chiefs Chikukwa, Ngorima, Ndima, Mutambara, Saurombe and Muusha each received a bicycle from Cde Mutsvangwa.

She said the bicycles will help the chiefs to communicate better with their people as they can be used by their messengers who often walk long distances to deliver messages.

“The role of chiefs’ messengers is crucial for the administration of justice and communication in rural areas. However, they face many challenges such as lack of adequate and reliable transport.

“This means that they have to walk for hours to deliver messages or summon people to court. The provision of bicycles to chiefs’ messengers will greatly improve their efficiency and mobility, and reduce their workload and fatigue,” she said.

Cde Mutsvangwa also donated groceries worth thousands of dollars to the villagers.
She praised Zanu PF members in Chimanimani East Constituency for their loyalty to the ruling party.

Speaking at a campaign rally at Machongwe Business Centre in Chimanimani last week on Friday, Cde Mutsvangwa expressed confidence that all party candidates in the district will be voted into office on August 23.

She said for the Second Republic’s development agenda to succeed, the electorate in Chimanimani needs to elect all 12 councillors who will be contesting under the Zanu PF ticket during the forthcoming harmonised elections.

Cde Mutsvangwa said four councillors and Chimanimani East legislator, Cde Joshua Sacco, had no challengers in the ruling party’s primary elections, showing that they have the support of the membership.

She said President Mnangagwa’s vision of leaving no one and no place behind is working well as evidenced by how the Second Republic rebuilt infrastructure that was damaged by Cyclone Idai in March 2019.

“The reason we want our President back in office is that he leaves no one and no place behind when it comes to development. Our President has a vision of turning this country into an economic powerhouse and this can only happen if he is voted back into office,” she said.
Cde Mutsvangwa further challenged youths to vote for the revolutionary party in their numbers.

Member of National Assembly for Chimanimani East Constituency, Cde Sacco said the people of Chimanimani will never let the Second Republic down because of the infrastructure rehabilitation programmes that have been ongoing in the area ever since the Cyclone Idai tragedy.

“Chimanimani was heavily hit by the cyclone and most of our infrastructure was destroyed beyond measure. However, in no time, the damaged bridges, houses and roads were built back better by the Second Republic.

“Our people know that had it not been for President Mnangagwa, we would still be struggling with inaccessible roads and damaged infrastructure.

“Because of this, the people of Chimanimani will vote him back into office and we promise that the party will win resoundingly in this constituency,” he said.

Zanu PF Manicaland Women’s League vice-chairperson, Cde Mercy Sacco said they have intensified door-to-door campaigns in Chimanimani East.

“We have realised that three quarters of our supporters in the constituency are women and they are currently doing door-to-door campaigns because they too want President Mnangagwa back in the office. These women are our foot soldiers, and we promise that they will deliver the votes that we want on August 23,” she said.
