ALL is set for the eighth edition of the Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk which will be held at Manicaland Motoring Club in Mutare tomorrow morning.
Like in the last editions, hundreds of people are expected to converge at Manicaland Motoring Club to participate in the worthy cause.
The Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk will kick off concurrently in Mutare, Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Masvingo and Chinhoyi.
A registration fee of US$10 for walkers and runners and US$20 for cyclists will see participants getting event themed T-shirts and caps.
Zimpapers’ public relations and communications manager, Mrs Pauline Matanda said registration is ongoing at The Manica Post Building in Mutare, Herald House in Harare, Chronicle House in Bulawayo, Zimpapers offices in Masvingo and Gweru and Platinum FM Studios in Chinhoyi.
“The campaign focuses on raising funds for Island Hospice’s cancer initiatives, while educating the masses on the cancers that are affecting people in the world.
“We have been running the cancer campaign since the beginning of year and we are now wrapping it up with a Power Walk on November 4. We have been moving with the cancer calendar and awareness on different cancer types have been running in our papers, on radio and even our online platforms,” said Mrs Matanda.
The walk will start at 6am until around 10am.
“Let us walk, run or cycle for the cause, invite friends and family. Cycling will be in Harare and Gweru”, said Mrs Matanda.
