PREPARATIONS for the 2021 Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) Manicaland provincial business awards slated for October 29 are at an advanced stage, with 36 outstanding businesspersons and organisations set to be honoured.

The awards seek to honour and recognise business excellence, and acumen leadership exhibited by organisations, and businesspeople in the province.

ZNCC Manicaland and Chiredzi regional manageress, Ms Perpetual Guwila, said: “We are glad to be hosting the prestigious provincial awards again after we failed to do so last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Preparations are at an advanced stage, and we are happy that the nomination process went on well. Businesses in Manicaland were forthcoming in providing their company profiles,” she said.

The last edition of the business awards in 2019 saw Mega Market being the biggest winner after scooping the Outstanding Investment Award, while its director, Mr Muhammed Shiraan Ahmed, was awarded Businessman of the Year accolade.

Ms Patience Maruni of KMP Holdings scooped the Businesswoman of the year Award, while Mr Chipo Chitowa from Mutasa scooped the Rural Businessman of the Year gong.

Mr Knowledge Murigwa of Blutech Technologies walked away with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

The Lifetime Achievement gong was posthumously awarded to the late former ZNCC president and shrewd businessman, Mr Hlanganiso Matangaidze.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award was scooped by Mr Tendai Chitowa, while the Outstanding Resilient Young Entrepreneur Award was scooped by youthful businessman, Mr Lloyd Mapunga of Towers Properties.
