ZANU PF Manicaland Women’s League chairperson, Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa is still in charge of the organ, the ruling party’s national secretary for information and publicity and spokesperson, Cde Chris Mutsvangwa has said.

Cde Nyakuedzwa had reportedly been issued with a prohibition order pending a hearing for gross misconduct after she allegedly failed to comply with the ruling party’s constitution.

In a statement this afternoon, Cde Mutsvangwa said Cde Nyakuedzwa will continue participating in all party activities.

“ZANU PF wishes to put it on record that Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa’s position as chairwoman for Manicaland Province remains as it has been since she was elected. She is wholly on the reins of provincial Women’s League leadership and is fully discharging her duties and responsibilities,” he said.

Cde Mutsvangwa said Cde Nyakuedzwa will be involved in mobilising support for the ruling party in preparation for the forthcoming harmonised elections.

He added: “She is ardently focused on carrying out her mandate of voter registration and membership mobilisation on the ongoing cell verification programmes. The tantalising prize being a landslide victory for President Mnangagwa and the party in the impending harmonised national elections.”

Cde Mutsvangwa applauded the unity of purpose and sterling work being done by the party structures and affiliates in grassroots mobilisation.
