ZANU PF Women’s League’s national secretary for administration, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa, has applauded Manicaland Women’s League leadership for their massive voter mobilisation through empowerment initiatives.
Addressing the provincial executive leadership in the city today, Senator Mutsvangwa who is also Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, described the initiative as a demonstration that defines the spirit of unity, love for each other and loyalty to the party and its leadership.
“What you are doing here shows that we are a different party which is revolutionary and understands its values and principles,” she said.
Senator Mutsvangwa said it is the Women’s League leadership’s mandate to ensure that the grassroots understands the good work which is being done by the Second Republic under the stewardship of President Mnangagwa.
“President Mnangagwa has created a field of entrepreneurship for everyone to be financially stable and we should all benefit from it. Keep on mobilising these women by empowering them with income generating projects,” said Senator Mutsvangwa.
She said while the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s reports show that Manicaland is the second biggest province in terms of registered voters with 738 549 voters, it is imperative that the Women’s League up their voter mobilisation game and garner more voters for the revolutionary party.
“Talk to the registered and unregistered voters. Be humble as you enlighten them on the developments that President Mnangagwa has spearheaded in the country since he came into office.
“Let us continue to be disciplined cadres by adhering to the principles and values of ZANU PF as enshrined in the party’s constitution. Never allow interference within your structures as the Women’s League and keep mobilising voters so that Manicaland will make us proud come 2023 harmonised elections,” she said.
Senator Mutsvangwa also challenged women to shun divisions.
“You should know that by its nature, democracy is all about contestation, but this must not cause divisions. We should not allow any divisions among us. The party is not about one person, but about all of us. Divisions will not take us anywhere. If one has grievances, then it is important that they take the proper channel as enshrined in the party’s constitution,” she said.
Manicaland Provincial Women’s League chairperson, Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa said: “Women’s League national chairperson, Senator Mabel Chinomona asked us to convey the message of unity to you. She said we should shun violence and despondency. We should always be united.
“If you are not united as the Women’s League, then you will not be able to mobilise more voters. You need to make sure that the song you are singing is the right song and that you are mobilising women through these empowerment programmes. This will help in enlightening our women in seeing the good works of our visionary leader, President Mnangagwa. If they are empowered, then they will vote for the party in 2023 and our President will win overwhelmingly.
“Our discourse should sorely be about mobilising women and making sure that they are empowered,” said Cde Nyakuedzwa.
Cde Nyakuedzwa said the Women’s League will keep strengthening its mobilisation of women voters through empowerment across the province.
The mobilisation programmes are being superintended by Sen Mutsvangwa, Cde Nyakuedzwa, Cde Nyapokoto and Cde Ivy Mhlanga.
