CHANCELLOR Primary School is the place to be tomorrow (Saturday) as leading gospel artistes Mathias Mhere and Kudzi Nyakudya share the stage at this year’s potentially-explosive Diamond FM Winter Warmer Gospel gig.
The two artistes will be supported by Mutare jewels in the gospel music circles, Pastor Tinashe, Dorcas Moyo, Royal Trumpet and Whitney Ngorima. Organisers of the event said people should expect a bigger and better edition. The event starts at 12 noon and ends at 8pm. Last year’s edition saw local artistes Blessing Shumba, Dorcas Moyo and Royal Trumpets, Fungisai Zvakavapano and Michael Mahendere taking turns to entertain scores of people who braved the chilly weather and be part of the glamorous event.
Diamond FM station manager, Jabulani ‘‘JB’’ Mangezi said, “It is going to be another exciting edition of the Winter Warmer Gospel gig where our listeners’ favourite gospel artistes will be in town to preach to them through music. We are urging people to attend the event which will also proffer a platform for our listeners to mix and mingle with the radio station’s presenters as well as the local and Harare-based artistes. Last year’s event was successful and we expect tomorrow’s event to be even a bigger and better.”
The performing artistes were raring to go and promised to put up scintillating performances.
“We will take the opportunity to present songs from our new album to our listeners. We thank Diamond FM for giving us such a grand opportunity to preach to people through music. We are ready for the event,” said Pastor Tinashe.
Benjamin Chimoyo, who fronts a gospel outfit, Royal Trumpet said he has a lot of surprises for his fans.
