Juntal, Vee Mhofu headline weekend bashes

Fast-rising mbira maestro, Vee Mhofu, headlines the much-awaited joint’s proprietor, Eddie Gopo’s birthday bash tomorrow (Saturday).

Backed by his entourage, Dzivarembira, the dreadlocked vocalist is expected to send fans into ecstasy with his exceptional mbira-strumming process. He will be backed by local musicians, Mutare Samanyanga, popularly known as T Boss and Jay O, while veteran wheel spinner, DJ Ranga will be on the turntables.

 

The event starts at 2pm till late and admission is free.

Chitsa Bar and Liquids

Talented Mutare-based Afro-jazz, Expressions Band will play at the entertainment joint for the first time this year in a potentially-explosive gig scheduled for Sunday.

 

After an electrifying show by T Boss last Sunday, Expressions Band is expected to take over from there with a well-choreographed performance.

 

The group will be backed by DJ Spillz, T-Muffin and Wizzy who will be providing entertainment for the whole weekend.

 

The show starts at 2pm.

Club Mandisa

The watering hole, situated at the heart of the city, will resume live shows this weekend with a potentially-scintillating performance by Harare-based and self-proclaimed Rhumba king, Juntal.

 

Famed for the song ‘Shekede’, the hoarse-voiced musician, whose music and waist-wriggling dances are inspired by rhumba legend, Kofi Olomide, will be performing at the venue for the first time.

Pole dancers will continue entertaining revellers in the VIP section all-week through.
Micasa

As patrons enjoy the Africa Cup of Nations tournament that is currently underway, DJs Frazer, Terminator and new kid on the block, Cape Lorel, will take turns to entertain soccer fanatics and fun lovers from tonight.

 

A bubbly Cape Lorel, who is a new school music guru, starts playing every Thursday till Sunday when jazz musician, Steve Chikotie headlines Sunday Jazz nights.

Acid Bar

Boss Yala will entertain patrons, particularly pool lovers at the joint starting tonight.

 

The club, which is now popular for pool, also hosts fun lovers who will be out for booze and braai while the youthful DJ do magic on the turntables.

Lennon Hotel

The posh hotel and accommodation facility, situated in Mutare’s downtown area, hosts sit-in and walk-in guests in the restaurant and bar.

 

They offer a wide range of cuisines as well as some ice cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, with some classic music playing.
