HEADLANDS voters have pledged to overwhelmingly vote for President Mnangagwa and Zanu PF as a big thank you for the life changing programmes being undertaken by the Second Republic in their constituency.

The constituency, which has over 32 000 registered voters and is traditionally a fortress for the revolutionary party, has pledged to deliver the highest number of votes for Zanu PF in the province.

Most people in Headlands were resettled there between 1980 and 2000, and produce crops such as tobacco, wheat, maize, barley and traditional grains, as well as livestock production.

Some of the farms are highly mechanised.

Zanu PF is being represented by youthful and energetic candidate, Cde Farai Walter Mapfumo, in the constituency.

Cde Mapfumo said they are working hard to maintain the constituency’s status as the bastion of the party, not only in Makoni District, but Manicaland Province.

Cde Mapfumo said the Zanu PF-led Government carried out a number of key projects in the constituency, including water infrastructure, schools and roads construction.

In his own capacity, Cde Mapfumo has constructed bridges, classroom blocks, teachers’ houses, health centres and drilled boreholes, among other things.

“As Headlands, we are raring to go for the elections, and we are targeting a 90 percent victory. People are happy and satisfied with the performance of the Second Republic which is led by President Mnangagwa.

“Government constructed the state-of-the-art Moodsvile and Lawrancedale schools were learners used to attend classes in tobacco barns.

“Muchekeranwa Dam is one signature project which has had a huge impact in the constituency, benefiting both small and large scale farmers. Plans are underway to add tourism and fishing activities at the dam,” said Cde Mapfumo.
