PREMIERSHIP hotshot, Nyasha Chintuli has described his switch to Ngezi Platinum Stars as a career-refining challenge set to take his budding career to another level.

The Mutare-born striker is keen to keep the momentum from his season-long stint at Triangle last year.

He is determined to star in Madamburo’s march to the championship podium for the 2020 campaign.

“Joining Ngezi Platinum Stars is a key step for me. This is a huge stride and if my time at Triangle was a Premiership learning curve, it follows that I have to be more sharpened and deliver at my new base because any serious striker is judged by their clinical edge in front of goal. I cherish this move as it has broadened my horizons and will challenge me to raise my game and realise my dreams as well.

“Being on Ngezi Platinum Stars’ wish list after only one season in the top-flight league shows that I was doing something right such that my talent caught their eye. Therefore I will work even harder to ensure my career continues on that upward trajectory. The club needs to recoup the benefits of their investment in me. I am hoping for the best when football eventually kicks off,” said the youthful gunslinger.

Chintuli is one of the dozen new signings conscripted by the Mhondoro miners to do duty for the side during the 2020 season, among them the 2012 Soccer Star of the Year, Denver Mukamba and serial championship medallist, Devon Chafa.

He is set to battle it out for a regular starting spot in attack with other strikers — Anelka Chivandire and Tendai Matindife — who both hail from Mutare.

After crossing the floor from the Sugar Sugar Boys — where he played for just one season and got his first taste of Premiership action, including a run in the CAF Confederations Cup — the former Tenax FC marksman is keen to make the most of his loan deal at Ngezi Platinum Stars.

“So far, this has been an interesting journey for me. I cherish my time at Triangle and the experience I gained there after debuting in the local top-flight league as well as the African safari. At Ngezi, I am looking forward to carving another path and have my game touch new heights.”

The striker has since set his sights on hitting double digits for a goal haul to beat his own career best as well as making it to the Soccer Star of the Year finalists.

Last season he fell short of reaching the two-figured mark in the local league after netting only seven times, including solitary strikes which sank giants Dynamos and Highlanders, while laying three assists.

Chintuli also intends to clinch the championship with Ngezi Platinum Stars.
