IF every outing was as splendid as the festive season’s were, then pleasure-seekers in and around Mutare certainly cannot wait for the Villa Spot to host other fiestas.

For, during that period, all leisure roads in the city led to the joint where patrons were in for a massive merriment treat as they were winding down 2019 in the lead-up to an unforgettable crossover into 2020.

Festive fiesta

Meticulously planned and spanning the Christmas and New Year holidays, the jamboree lived up to its headlining billing.

Dubbed the Beer and Braai Festival – with music, beverages and meat galore – this was the major highlight of the revelry.

Local fan favourite Juicer Mpostori provided entertainment with a live performance during which he belted out his old hits while also sampling new stuff.

Over a dozen DJs, among which included Briz, Quick, Slim Phat, Famous and Shammie D, also took turns on the turntables.

As bliss filled the air, there was something for everyone and organisers expressed satisfaction with the fête’s success.

“This was simply our way of saying ‘thank you to our regular customers for their patronage throughout the past year.

Their tremendous support has been overwhelming, without which we could have not come this far.

For their delightful enjoyment, we massively knocked down the prices of all items on sale from meat to beer in order to create a truly carnival atmosphere.

“Because we wanted to make it a memorable affair, it started in the morning and ran all day long such that it was also ideal for a family outing.

Not only did it spill late into the night but the New Year also dawned on us in a celebratory mood and this sets the tone for a livelier 2020,” said Villa Spot manager Lloyd Mabodongwa.

More pleasant surprises, he added, are coming merrymakers’ way as an impressive calendar of events has been lined up.

“January is just a month”

Conceding that January has traditionally been a difficult month for many a reveller, Villa Spot will provide them with a soft landing while being easy on their pockets.

“To live true to our values, we have to deliver as per patrons’ expectations. They do not call us trend-setters for nothing and because we are the Guzzlers’  Paradise, this is where party people’s entertainment tastes can be satisfied.  To cater for everyone we have both indoors and outdoors facilities, sumptuous braai and kitchen services as well as a secure and spacious parking lot,” emphasised the place’s boss.

As such there shall be no beverages and braai drought as these will continue to be readily available at ridiculously low cost for imbibers’ binging and munching delight.

2020 Jamboree

Villa Spot is no stranger to successfully hosting blockbuster events — some of which have a national outlook and appeal, notably the Ladies’ National Pool Tournament and Castle Lager National Braai Day in 2019 — as it always brings it’s A game.

This year’s major drawcard, meanwhile, is set to be the joint’s seventh anniversary celebrations which have been earmarked for a live broadcast on local radio station,  Diamond FM.
