VETERAN comical dancer, David “Apama Styles” Machowa, is scheduled to make his second coming to Mutare when he performs at popular entertainment centre Club Mandisa.
Apama Styles, who is well known for his theatrical dancing styles and mimicking other artistes’ songs in a comical way, has promised to put up a sterling and well choreographic act when he meets his fans in the eastern border city for the show as a main act.
Apama whose antics and theatrics on stage have won him many fans can dance to any song — danceable or not — has endeared him with a legion of fans from across the country.
The award winning dancer is expected to set the pace and warm the stage for upcoming Chikanga-based sungura outfit Wise Friends which is led by veteran guitarist Moses Mubako who will entertain revelers at the same joint tomorrow (Saturday).
In an interview, Mubako promised fun-lovers par-excellent show and said he cannot wait to meet his Mutare fans.
“I cannot wait to show Mutare fun lovers what we are made of. We are excited by the response we have received so far from our fans across Mutare city.
“ It will be a memorable show. We will not disappoint. We know what we are expected of. We will introduce new dances. We always strive to do better and make sure that we leave our fans clamouring for more,” said Mubako.
Show promoter, Boniface Nyamanhindi said they were determined to bring more local artistes to promote local talent.
“Moses Mubako has been one of the most talented yet underrated sungura musicians from Mutare. We are giving him another chance to show local sungura music lovers what he is made of,” he said. The two groups will be supported by resident dance ensemble Mandisa Queens.
