Mandel Leisure Centre

Sungura virtuoso, Alick Macheso and Jiti musician, Baba Harare are today expected to light up the sleepy Watsomba Business Centre at the spacious joint for the first time after the Covid-19 induced lockdown.

 

The two artistes will be locking horns as part of one of the venue owners, Mai Ray’s 40th birthday celebrations. Macheso said he will play some of the new songs contained on his yet-to-be-christened forthcoming album due to be released this year.

 

The event which is open for all starts at 2pm. Revellers will part with US$10.

 

The gig will be broadcast live on local radio station, Diamond FM.

Fun lovers will also be treated to undiluted fun on the turn-tables by an array of wheel spinners, including DJ Lampy.

 

Golden Peacock Villa Hotel

Celebrated Zim dancehall artiste, Killer T, takes his ‘Inzwaiwo Kuchema Mambo’ tour to Mutare tonight in a potentially-explosive gig that starts at eight.

 

The artiste, fondly known as Chairman, will be performing live for the first time at the venue and is expected to thrill fans from songs on the new album ‘Iznwaiwo Kuchema Mambo’ such as ‘Tsiurika’, ‘Usipo’, ‘Hakete’, ‘Hosana’, ‘Ndichazofarawo’, ‘Ukandiudza’ and ‘Mupe Mari’.

 

Killer T, through his handlers, has promised to put up a scintillating performance.

 

He will be backed by youthful Deejays Mshez, Movado, Sachie and Ras Nengo.

Holiday Inn

Jazz songstress, Rutendo Jackie, whose stock continues to rise after diversifying her genre by partnering versatile artistes from South Africa, will headline the Candle Lit masquerade dinner to be held at the venue on February 13 and 14.

 

She will be performing with her full band, Afro Blue.

 

She has added new backing vocalists as well as more seasoned instrumentalists to her band.

 

She fuses traditional and contemporary instruments to come up with a unique and distinct sound that has seen her wooing more fans.

Dhunza Bar and Grill

One of Mutare’s rising secular musicians, Lionel ‘Caff’ Matanda who rose to fame with songs such as ‘Manager’, ‘Ndiwe’ and ‘Perfect to Me’ will be back in his hometown Mutare where he nurtured his talent for a potentially-explosive gig dubbed ‘Hello Mutare’ which is scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday). His management has confirmed that the artiste will be performing with a live band at the spacious venue.

He will be supported by veteran wheel spinner, DJ Ranga. Resident deejays, Rumbledon, Stixxie and Zincyard will take turns to entertain revellers on Ladies Night today and every Friday.

Courtauld Theatre/FC Lounge

The uptown entertainment joint and visual and performing arts centre will this weekend see local wheel spinners jamming some old and classic music for the young and elderly as they wine and dine.

 

Dubbed the Jukebox Night, revellers get the chance to request for their preferred songs from the deejays.

Rozvi Bar and Grill

Popular deejay among ghetto youths, Stixx, will be back in the fold this weekend and is expected to mesmerise revellers with new and golden oldies for all ages at the venue popularly known as Creche Yemadhara which is mostly frequented by the aging and old skool music lovers.
