Teenchat with Tentie
I HOPE you guys all enjoyed the Africa Day. The day should have given all proud Africans a huge lift.

Hie Teenchat, my name is Cindy Nyahanana from St Matthias Tsonzo. I would like to say hie to Spud, Sado, Tafco and all Form 4 students at the school. My advice them is that sometimes you face difficulties not because you have done something wrong, but because you’re doing something right.

One day I visited a friend of mine, Jane, who is blind.  And because it was night she did something that taught me a lot. Upon entering the house Jane switched on the light. And I asked her why since she was blind. Jane laughed for a long time, switched off the light and went to the kitchen, after a short while she came with a pot of tea and eggs, placed them perfectly well on the table and switched on the light again. What Jane said made me shed tears. She said, “Gladys! I did not put on the light for my own sake; I did it for you because you needed it since you are not blind like me”.

Then she asked me, “Gladys, how many times have you switched off the light for other people and denied them an opportunity to see light  just because you do not need it?”

I ask you the same question today, “How many times have you put off your lights and denied others an opportunity to see the light while they are in darkness? Why would you let your accounts grow to millions while your neighbours’ child is going barefooted? Why would you put clothes you don’t wear in the closets while someone out there is almost going naked? Why would food rot in your houses while there is someone out there sleeping hungry?

That is equivalent to putting off a bulb in the dark. Have a blessed week as you turn on the lights you’ve switched off — Tinotenda Chiripashi.

Let go of the disappointments and setbacks in your life and hang on to the promises of God for your future. A pretentious, complicated and showy life is an empty life. It causes unnecessary pressures, stress, fatigue and continuous inner conflicts, but a plain and simple life is a full life, it leads to happiness and peace of mind — Chipo Mtemera.

Hie Tentie, I want to greet my friends Lizzie, Lady Mill Till and Empress Fai. I really appreciate your warm and kind friendship guys. Keep the smile, leave the tension, feel the joy, forget the worry, hold the peace, leave the pain, and always be happy — Double Dee.
