SUNGURA artiste, Brian Samaita, has roped in celebrated gospel musician, Blessing Shumba in his yet-to-be christened forthcoming album due to be released next month.Speaking on the sidelines of the official opening of Revival Centre Church in Dangamvura last Sunday where he performed as a guest artiste, the Tongai Moyo-inspired musician revealed that he was also courting another revered gospel diva, Agatha Murudzwa to feature on another gospel song as he intends to diversify his music. He performed one of the new songs, Jerusarema, which is a gospel track that urges Christians to have faith in God and desist from pervert ways.

Shumba features on the song.

“I will remain a sungura musician, but by roping in gospel artistes such as Murudzwa and Shumba will help improve my brand as I seek to diversify my music. I wish to have Agatha’s voice on another gospel track. This is the first time I have composed gospel tracks and I am loving the new experience. We are working hard to come up with a polished product and I sincerely hope that my fans will love it. It is also an honour to work with experienced musicians like Shumba. His touch will definitely add a refreshing flair to the new project which I believe will be complete by end of this month,” he said. The forthcoming project will feature Eddy Machote who replaced Simba Muchita on bass guitar. The Murondatsimba Express front man belted out a blend of old and new tracks at the new Revival Centre Church situated in Area 14 in Dangamvura, adjacent popular leisure centre, Villa Spot.

The lead guitarist has three albums to date, namely, Nemiwo Munazvo, Murodzi Wepfungwa and Tsono.

In a separate interview, Revival Centre Church founder, Prophet Adventure Mutepfa, said he invited Samaita because he has been a long time partner of the church.

“Some people might query why we invited a sungura musician to our church, but Samaita has always been our partner whose deeds in music and out of music remain Godly. Music plays a critical role in people’s live and we decided to rope him in and be part of the milestone as we celebrate opening a new branch here in Dangamvura. As our church continues to grow in leaps and bounds, we intend to win more souls by holding social activities that lures them to the church such as music and sport,” he said.
