A SAKUBVA woman is at loggerheads with their rumour mongering family friend, accusing her of fanning bad blood between her and her husband.

Purity Gota approached Mutare Civil Courts, applying for a peace order against Anesu Jambare, accusing her of feeding her husband with everything that transpires at their workplace.

The two women are workmates.

Mutare magistrate, Mr Xavier Chipato, granted Gota the peace order valid for one year. He advised the pair to maintain peace since they are friends.

Gota claims she was having serious problems in her marriage and at work as a result of Jambare’s untamed tongue.

“She is my workmate and family friend. She gossips about me to my husband, especially on what happens at work, including some stuff which my husband should not know,” she said.

“Jambare is always at the centre of our arguments with my husband. She is destroying my marriage. Whenever I ask her why she is meddling in my marriage, she becomes violent,” she said.

Gota said on several occasions, she had confronted Jambare over her rumour mongering to no avail.

“She says a lot of things about me, but I have never retaliated because I am a peace loving person,” she said.

However, Jambare interjected and counter-accused Gota of spreading rumours about her as well.

“She is the one tarnishing my image. She says a lot of unfounded things about me to her co-wife and in-laws when she visits their rural home. I retaliated and she is now crying foul.

“She told her hubby’s first wife that I was aware of her affair with their husband. She portrays me as a bad friend to her co-wife. Whenever the first wife visits our workplace and sees her, she thinks I am the one who engineered Gota’s relationship with their husband, yet I am innocent. This angered me so much,” she said.

Jambare further said she took care of Gota and trained her when she joined the company.“She was my friend since the day her husband introduced me to her. I even gave her shelter and trained her,” she said.

Gota denied saying anything bad about Jambare to her co-wife and in-laws, adding that she bore no grudge against her, and only wants peace and protection.
