ONE of the star-studied bandsmen who were part of the founding members of the formidable Ragga-Manyika outfit, Assegai Crew, Robert Chagora, has bounced back with two gospel singles.

The singles, Fear Not, Sin Not and Ukuru Hwenyu are already making airwaves on various radio stations, particularly on the local commercial radio station, Diamond FM.

Chagora (53) worked with various musical groups in Mutare during his youthful days before sinking into oblivion.

He is now his own man and is expected to release a six-track album in June this year.

In a recent interview, Chagora said although he cherishes the days he was at Assegai Crew, particularly when they would do whirlwind tours across the country and regional countries, he intends to inspire souls through his soulful music.

The shrewd keyboardist who has turned into a fine vocalist is already conducting public shows in churches, taking the opportunity to market his new singles which are laden with messages of faith, hope, love and peace.

The two singles were produced by C-Bleech.

“It is always a pleasure to do what your heart cherishes. Through faith, I knew the time will come to reunite with my fans as a gospel artiste preaching through the mic and keyboards. Life’s experiences and God’s undying love has taught me to pin hope and trust in Him. This has inspired me to record the two singles. On Fear Not, Sin Not, I encourage people to dwell on God’s pledge of love and protection. I am humbled by the encouragement that I am getting from friends and loved ones. The singles marked my re-entrance into the music scene,” added Chagora.

During his recent interview with Diamond FM, Chagora, who is also a session keyboardist, said he will unleash a yet-to-be-christened six-track album which carries six tracks such as Vatatu Mumwe, Ndovimba Naye, Tsitsi Dzake, Power Of The Lord, He Wakes Me Up and Tichasanganiswa.

He said he will add more live instruments on his forthcoming project as well as collaborating with other artistes locally and regionally as he seeks to spread the word of God further through music.
