ARGUABLY one of Mutare’s most consistent gospel artistes, Pastor Tinashe Murigo, believes this year is his time to shine following a successful 20118 that saw two of the songs he featured coming out tops on Radio Zimbabwe and Diamond FM. Murigo featured on Rev Toggy Chivaviro’s hit track Matishamisa which was voted song of the year on the Radio Zimbabwe Coca Cola Top 50 competition as well as on Royal Trumpet’s song Nyenyedzi which was seated on number two on Diamond FM Super 50.
This is a feat very few musicians in Mutare have achieved. The talented vocalist is on the verge of releasing a new 12-track album titled Mukana wangu which is Murigo’s declaration that this year belongs to him. It is based on a biblical verse which reads “Time and chance happens to them all”.
“The album carries themes of victory, love and peace. The title track Mukana wangu is a prophetic message that I am declaring in Jesus name that this is my time to shine. I have been looking from where I come from and I can see and feel that God is with me and I am destined for greater heights. There is a time when God tells you that this is your time,” said Murigo.
The album which is being recorded and produced at BishMusic by the talented Blessing Matanga will be officially launched in Mozambique, Botswana and Zambia.
Murigo, who is the House of Power Apostolic Ministries Church leader, revealed that he would release a purely worship album that would be part of the celebrations to mark his five years of existence in the gospel music industry. He has released hits such as Zvakabhadharwa and Senondo among other fine tracks.
