STRUGGLING Manica Diamonds have sacked coach Luke ‘Vahombe’ Masomere following a run of poor results.
Masomere led the Gem boys to the top flight league last year after finishing top of the Zifa Eastern Region Division One league. However the team has failed to reproduce the form this year.
The Gem boys have failed to register a single win in the last seven outing.
The self proclaimed football doctor has been under intense pressure as his side battle a barren spell and a 2-0 defeat at home at the hands of Black Rhinos yesterday was the last straw.
Part of the letter written by Manica Diamonds Media and Communications department reads,”Manica Diamonds FC announces that head coach Luke Masomere has left the club with immediate effect.The club would like to thank Luke Masomere for his work during his time at Manica Diamonds FC and wish him success in the future. A new caretaker manager will be appointed while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new full time coach.”
Masomere confirmed his resignation though he did not shed more light .
“I had overstayed at Manica Diamonds.I do not want to say a lot for now that is why I am quiet even up to now.I will give you full details of what was transpiring at Manica Diamonds tomorrow and I have all the evidence,” he said.
