TALENTED-yet underrated gospel musician, Blessing Makomeya believes his new single titled Dzidza kunyarara released today will be a cushion for depressed and dejected listeners since it carries soothing and uplifting lyrics.

Makomeya is undoubtedly one of the finest composers ever to emerge from the eastern border city and his lyrical and vocal prowess has endeared himself with a legion of gospel music fans from across the country. Today (Friday) he officially launches the single at Diamond FM.

“The song teaches people to forgive and forget and it also encourages them to control their tongue since it has the power to build or destroy. In so many times, we block our blessings because of what we say against others. I strongly believe that listeners will be encouraged and soothed while enjoying the lyrics,” Makomeya said.

The single was beautifully carved in an Afro-Jazz style and the lyrics blend well with instruments. It was produced by Emmax Mega at Top Icon Studio. Makomeya, who prefers to call himself Apostle, mooted his musical career four years ago and discovered his talent in singing when he was in Grade three at Tiya Primary School in Chimanimani.

He later joined the school choir and was the head of Scripture Union at High School. He recorded his first album in 2014 titled, Nemiwo Makaropafadzwa which carries songs like Mbira nehosho, Moyo wekurevesa among others. The songs received rave reviews on radio stations such as Diamond FM, Radio Zimbabwe and National FM.

He is currently working on a six-track album which is expected to hit the streets in June 2017. He is also set to partner other budding and talented gospel musicians such as Rodgers Bepete, Blessing Pangira, Ruth Mwandipunza and Terrence Dzatsata in their projects.
