I am in love with a girl my mother hates. I have loved her for a few months even though I know how my mum feels about her. I am not too sure why my mother dislikes my girlfriend, but sooner or later I have to tell her that we are a couple. What is the best way for me to tell her my decision?

Children will always do the most amazing things…lol! Son, you cannot stop your heart from loving who it chooses, but your head can save you where need be. Back to your question. ..find a comfortable place where both you and your mum can speak freely. Ask your mother why she hates the lady in question and then try and show her the other side of her (the good side). Tell your mother in doses and watch for her reaction. You do not want to shock her! If you cannot say it all at once, find a level headed close relative to break the news gently to her. Do not expect her to warm up to the idea immediately, but be patient.
