THE Healing Jesus campaign which will run for two days, starting on December 9 and ending the following day will be the largest Christian campaign to be held in Mutare. The campaign, which is being organised jointly by about 300 churches in Mutare and the Healing Jesus Crusade, will have a mass choir of 3 000 members, 2 000 counsellors and 1 500 ushers. A record crowd of 50 000 people is expected to grace the two-day occasion.

The Healing Jesus Crusade was started by Bishop Dr Dag Heward-Mills, who is a medical doctor by profession and the founder and presiding bishop of Lighthouse Chapel International Denomination.

With an unquenchable fire ardent in his bosom, and a passion for soul winning, he set out to begin the Healing Jesus Crusade.

The Healing Jesus Crusade is a non-denominational, evangelistic outreach ministry which partners with all local churches and Christian organisations, where the crusade goes.

God has blessed the crusades with notable miracles, actualising the scripture in Acts 2:22, which says: “A man approved of God among you by miracles, signs and wonders.”

These miracles include the blind receiving their sight; the lame walking; chronic diseases vanishing; scores receiving their deliverance from demonic oppression and even the dead raised.

Evangelist Dag, with his crusade team, has held 132 evangelistic crusades since 2004 and has seen over 10 429 478 decisions made for Christ. These crusades have taken place in every country in West Africa, the Kingdom of Swaziland, Lesotho and 28 cities in South Africa.

After the success of 132 crusades, the Lord laid on the heart of the Evangelist to visit Zimbabwe with 14 cities and towns with the crusades. These towns and cities are: Victoria Falls, Bulawayo, Gweru, Kwekwe, Kadoma, Chitungwiza, Bindura, Harare, Marondera, Masvingo, Zvishavane, Gwanda, Beitbridge and finally Mutare .

The crusades started in Kadoma in mid-November and will end in Mutare on December 9 and 10 at Sakubva Stadium.

The objectives of the Healing Jesus Crusade are simple:

  • To preach the gospel to 100 million underprivileged people of this world.
  • To show love and compassion to the helpless people of this world.
  • To unite the body of Christ and the populace in the crusade centres.
  • To promote moral regeneration among the populace in the crusade centres.
  • To pray for the peace of nations, which in this case is Zimbabwe.

As part of this campaign there will be a one-day Church Workers’ conference for all pastors and leaders desiring to be empowered to do the work of ministry. This will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Sakubva Stadium.
