My husband is the worst man on earth. He does not respect me at all tete. Since March last year, I have been infected by sexually transmitted diseases four times. I am no longer a woman with dignity, my pride is shattered and I feel the whole world knows my story. I am always at the doctor’s office getting injections and medication for sicknesses I get from my husband. Once I suggested that we use condoms, I received the beating of my life. We have a comfortable life, but I am no longer happy. My greatest fear is that one day I will die and leave my children. Divorce has never been my plan but as it is, it might just be the only way.

Your life is the most important thing that you must safeguard. Without it you cannot be there for your children. You are in a relationship that is not just compromising your health, but also messing your self esteem, your mental health and your emotional being. Money is not everything and remember you can get your own money, but only if you are alive. My advice to you is that you need to reach out to an organisation that deals with women’s issues today and get not just legal advice, but also professional counselling. Be bold enough to know when you need to get out or to stay in. You are a good person with potential to become anything in life you so desire. Do not allow anyone to rob you of your dream. Take care of yourself and your children.
