HARDWORK and determination has finally paid off for talented gospel musician Dorcas Moyo, following the release of her fourth album “Ndibatsirewo Mwari”, which has been received well by listeners.

Although it has not been a stroll in the park for the Mutare-based diva who has three albums to date, this time she appears to have struck the right chords if the immaculate blending of lyrics and instruments on the new 11-track album is anything to go by.

Dorcas shows maturity on the project. The lyrics are spiritually-uplifting and will certainly soothe the dejected. The inclusion of Pastors Ellen Anderson and Tinashe Murigo on the track “Kuda kwenyu”, a potential hit, adds undisputable quality to the project.

Other tracks on the album include “Ndibatsireiwo Mwari”, “Miriam”, “Zodzo”, “Hazvina maturo”, “Nditarire nekufara”, “Zita” and “Zvivimbiso”.

The album, which was recorded at Kunashe Studios by Olin Anderson, has received rave reviews on several radio stations, especially Diamond FM. Moyo was born in Goromonzi and is a third born in a family of six. She started singing at the age of six when she was then the youngest member of praise and worship team at church.

She recorded her first album “Ndokusheedzai Jesu” in 2006 before releasing “Ndinokutungamirira” in 2008.

She took a sabbatical before releasing a single titled “Zvininipise” which features local gospel artiste Blessing Shumba.

She also released another single titled “Wakabuda sei”, which features talented Admire Nago of the “Wandigadza” hit.

She believes the response the album has received so far will propel her to dizzy heights.

“I am overwhelmed with the support that I have received ever since I launched the album on Diamond FM last week. We are in the process of producing more CDs for our listeners because the feedback has been more than what we expected. I am even shocked.

“I even give more thanks and praise to God when I listen to this album. The album carries several themes, for instance, ‘Ndibatsirei Mwari’ is a prayer to God asking him to carry us through all situation that we go through in life in our day-to-day lives. The album is packed with praise and worship songs. We are striving to make the album readily available for our listeners. We will soon commence live shows to market the project,” she said.
