The ManicaPost

I AM called Takudzwa Chiwanza. I completed my ‘A’ level studies having studied History, Divinity and Literature in English at Nyanga Boys High School aka Marist Brothers. Every day of my two years of ‘A’ level I always bore the feeling that I chose the best combination on earth and made a concrete resolve to make great use of my education as regards the betterment of our contemporary and future society.

My education has had a great impact on my perception of the world and I have vowed to myself that wherever and whenever I can, I will provide a helping hand to the overall improvement of society at large. If all goes well, I hope to study Law at the University of Zimbabwe. If this fails, I will opt for Media and Journalism Studies or Political Science. I

My main thrust for this break is to make full use of everything I have learnt so far, making it practicable in a society where there is moral, spiritual and ideological atrophy. For this, I have thought that writing is the best way to vent out this itch in me. In doing so, I also hope that those students who have remained behind in high school will benefit greatly.

Our studies (Divinity, History, and Literature in English) taught us a great deal about inequality, injustice, abuse towards women, misogyny, moral decay, politics and how society has warped innocent people into criminals. I have decided to voice my opinions in light of these and other issues.

. I have also decided to commit to the fight against injustice perpetrated against women through patriarchy. As for now, I’m airing some of these views on my Facebook page. The Zimbabwe Sphere, but I still need more writing platforms to air these views. In addition to this, my friends and I have decided to embark on a computerisation program of hospitals to disentangle them from using manual records. However, we need funds and more professional help, and any help you or anybody could lend us is greatly appreciated.

Young people in high schools must make use of their learning in order to tackle the socio-economic problems we face every day. My main goal is to establish my own blogging site to air everything I have mentioned above. I yearn for a great Zimbabwe and as part of the youth we have the onus to institute desired development and change.MM REMARKS:  Brilliant ideas and wonderful aspirations. I am impressed. You see what good schools do! Mould brains, hearts and hands in our children. I hope you will not mind a little bit of advice and guidance on one of your aspirations: “…youths must be actively involved in political matters since they constitute the largest proportion of the population.”
