MUTARE’S only commercial radio station Diamond FM, will early next month host a special radio programme to celebrate the Mother’s Day.
The radio station, which is part of the broadcast arm of the Zimpapers Group, will celebrate the day starting May 12.
The station’s sales and marketing executive Emily Mutsaka, said the promotion will see its listeners recording love messages to their mothers which will be aired live on radio for as little as $10.
“The listeners will pay a fee of $10 to record the message which will be read to their mothers on radio. The deejay will call the mothers and read the messages to them live on air. This is a special way of celebrating a unique day for mothers and Mutsaka urged people to pay in numbers and be part of it.
“It is good to celebrate and honour our mothers in a special way. Diamond FM will give a platform for listeners to make their mothers feel special live on air. We do not want our listeners to forget that Mother’s Day is a celebration of honouring our mothers, recognising the importance of motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of all the mothers in the world. It is celebrated throughout the world,” said Mutsaka.
Mother’s Day is a celebration, honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.
It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in on 12 May.
