A MUTARE Polytechnic College student who has been cohabiting with her unemployed boyfriend in Hobhouse while her parents thought she a resident at the campus was left with egg on the face when the beans were spilled in court on Tuesday.

The matter came to light when the 21-year-old, Nadia Marira, a resident student at the college was dragged to court by her lover’s other girlfriend Shyline Nyanguwo who was seeking for a peace order against the former and their boyfriend’s sister Percy Mukapuwenyi (24).

The 23-year-old Nyanguwo who is also a student at National University of Science and Technology had accused Marira and Mukapuwenyi of insulting, harassing and threatening to assault her if she does not leave her boyfriend, who was only identified as Brian.

Miss Prisca Tendai Manhibi presided over the matter.

Marira defended herself telling the court that she was Brian’s wife and that they had married in November last year.

However, the court caught her lying when it was revealed that culturally in Zimbabwe, people do not get married in the month of November.

Upon further probing by the court, Marira changed her lines and claimed that she had since moved back to her parents’ house in Penhalonga because she was having problems with Brian.

“I am a resident student at school Your Worship and sometimes I visit Brian at his place and one of those times I saw Shyline sleeping there and that is when she stole my panties and my skirt,” she said.

Miss Nanhibi however, did not have any kind words for both girls and Brian’s sister, Percy.

“You should be ashamed of yourselves, you are here lying that you are married to this man who did not even bother to come to court today to witness that he is married to you.

“You are both students and I am sure none of your parents know that while you are supposed to be at school, you will be taking turns to cohabite with this man. Instead here you are, the girl child who has had the opportunity to go to tertiary institutions but are fighting each other for someone who is not even employed and clearly does not love any of you.

“No one gets married in November in this country and but still you lie that he married you in November, do you think this court is that foolish that it wouldn’t know when people are lying?,” questioned Miss Manhibi.

She ordered Mukapuwenyi to stop interfering with her brother’s love matters and to focus on her own marriage.

In her application, Nyanguwo told the court that Marira was in the habit of hiring bouncers to threaten her to leave Brian.

“Your Worship, just last week, she came to me in town with four other people and started accusing me of stealing her panties and skirt from Brian’s house, which I did not do. They threatened to assault me and ordered me to leave Brian,” said Nyanguwo who also told the court that Marira and Mukapuwenyi were in the habit of calling and texting her, ordering her to leave Brian.

Narrated Nyanguwo, “Your Worship, if they have a problem with me being Brian’s girlfriend they should harass him and not me. I am in a relationship with Brian and not his sister or his other girlfriend.

“They however, have taken the matter into their hands and insult, harass and threaten to assault me if I stay in the relationship with Brian.”

Asked on whether Brian was peculiar in any way since they were fighting over him, Nyanguwo told the court that he is not even employed and that but just that she loved him so much.

The order was granted and Miss Manhibi ordered the trio to stop communicating via mobile phones and not to insult, assault, harass or threaten to insult the other.
