A CONSORTIUM of churches under the banner Zimbabwe Heads of Christian Denominations (ZHOCD) has thrown its weight behind devolution.
The body, which is operating in Chipinge, Chimanimani and Buhera districts, urged people in the province to take advantage of devolution programmes to develop their local communities.
Speaking during an engagement meeting at Maunganidze in Chipinge today, United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe (UCCZ) project coordinator for Manicaland Province, Mr Rabson Machuchu, said they are fully behind devolution.
He said they are encouraging locals to be involved in devolution programmes.
“The devolution agenda is a good model that can spearhead provinces’ economic and social development. This transforms local communities. As a church we are ready to play our part to ensure that the goals outlined in Vision 2030 are achieved,” said Mr Machuchu.
Evalengical Fellowship of Zimbabwe’s representative Reverend Maxwell Chizumba echoed similar sentiments.
He said they support projects under devolution that drive the country’s economic recovery and growth.
