YOU see, in this life we live, it is always nice to be nice! There is a Shona saying that can be translated “some people have tears of a cat and when they cry, those who made them cry will surely face undesirable fate.”
Could this be why our dear businessman’s empire seems to be crumbling like a deck of cards? Is he broke?
This chap who inherited part of his family’s business empire surely made a lot of people shed tears of agony after he shamelessly destroyed their marriages.
Many will recall how he destroyed marriages around our beautiful city as he used the power of the greenback to seduce uncultured married women.
Only this other day, Blabber bumped into him in the company of a girlfriend, young enough to be his granddaughter.
However, this is a story for another day.
Dear reader, I am talking about this other businessman who used to run a thriving meat retail outlet a few kilometres out of the central business district; folks around town used to drive to the place to get quality cheap beef.
The serene environs of the place make it a preferred destination for lovebirds, imbibers and pleasure seekers from our beautiful city.
Now word reaching Yours Truly is that his business projects are closing down, one after the other, as he is evading ballooning debts from meat suppliers.
Just as his surname suggests, Blabber wonders whether the walls are finally collapsing.
As if that was enough, his son has lost his marbles due to drugs and substance abuse and those who frequent the once thriving meat retail outlet will bear witness to this.
Blabber will not open the healing wounds of his daughter’s nasty divorce which came with all the blessings of the family.
For the avoidance of doubt, Blabber has nothing against anyone, including our dear businessmen of loose morals.
For professional reasons, Yours Truly will never use this widely read column to settle personal scores.
If anything, it is only the need to preserve the little that remains of our moral fabric that keeps Blabber peeping through the keyholes of your bedroom doors.
This is why Yours Truly has always been blabbering about this businessman’s waywardness; never at one point did Blabber talk about his cool headed brother.
It is even difficult for Blabber to imagine that these two passed through the same womb, given the sober mindedness and humility that the other brother exudes.
Blabber will surely get to the bottom of it all and establish if indeed this is the demise of our dear meat retailer’s business clout.
