ZIMBABWE National Parks and Wildlife Authority (ZimParks) intends to hold another Business Expo at the end of this month, eyeing more stakeholders.

This follows the highly successful expo held at Meikles Park grounds last weekend.

The expo saw more than 18 organisations showcasing their products and services as well as building synergies, while more than 700 people — children included — attending the event.

The event was held under the theme: “Unlocking the potential of the Eastern Highlands through promoting domestic tourism”.

“The business and outreach concept came just after the Covid-19 restrictions were eased and technically as a way to inform potential clients of ZimParks’ products on offer in Manicaland. We managed to bring together several stakeholders in Mutare including banks, schools, media houses, health sector and tourism players among others.

“We also had an opportunity to interact with customers, getting ideas on how to improve our products. Most of our customers were inquiring about festive holiday and wedding bookings. It was a successful event.

“We managed to achieve our objective of reaching out to stakeholders on parks products and services,” said ZimParks Business Enterprise manager for Eastern Highlands Cluster, Mr Augustine Mandimutsira.

ZimParks exhibited spectacular displays such as animal trophies, live animals, greenhouse for flowers and plants, crocodile pond, trout fish sales as well as tourism marketing desk.

“We had displays of eland, buffalo, impala, warthog and wildebeest. A live python also mesmerised many.

“We also had an opportunity to interact  with customers getting ideas on how to improve our products. Most of our customers were inquiring about the impending festive holidays bookings as well as weddings. It was a successful event. We intend to hold another expo end of this month,” he said.
