FORMER Zanu PF Manicaland vice-chairman, Cde Joseph Mujati, has bounced back into the provincial structures following the nullification of his suspension by the ruling party’s Politburo.

The ruling party’s supreme decision making body also nullified the suspensions of three other cadres – Cdes Simon Mapfumo, Betty Dhliwayo and Prosper Sithole from Chipinge District.

Provincial secretary for administration, Cde Kenneth Saruchera yesterday confirmed the lifting of the quartet’s suspensions.

He said Cde Mujati has since been co-opted into the provincial executive as vice-secretary for science and technology.

He said they were waiting for recommendations from Chipinge District on the fate of Cdes Mapfumo, Dhliwayo and Sithole.

“The four cadres were suspended for indiscipline and their cases were referred to the party’s National Disciplinary Committee and we stand guided by the Politburo’s decision.

“We deliberated on Cde Mujati’s issue during our last provincial executive committee meeting following recommendations from the Makoni District leadership that he be co-opted back into the provincial structures following the lapse of his suspension. The issue was extensively deliberated on and it was agreed that Cde Mujati had remained loyal and had continued serving the party diligently.

“For Cdes Mapfumo, Dhliwayo and Sithole, we are waiting for recommendations from their district. We do not know whether they have approached their district leadership reminding them of the lapse of their suspensions for their matter to be brought before the provincial executive committee for deliberation,” said Cde Saruchera.

He also announced the elevation of Cde Stanley Mbawa from being the vice-secretary for legal affairs to secretary for indigenisation.

Cde Samuel Mhlanga, who was vice-secretary for science and technology, was elevated to the post of secretary for lands and resettlement, a position that was left vacant following the death of liberation war hero, Cde Leonard Makwambeni.

Cde Getrude Neshiri from Chipinge is now the vice-secretary for production and labour.
