A RUSAPE court has barred a local woman from disturbing ZANU PF Manicaland Women’s League chairlady, Happiness Nyakuedzwa, barely a year after the former was also ordered to stop harassing her husband, Albert Nyakuedzwa.

Tariro Faith Mhondiwa last year dragged Happiness Nyakuedzwa to Rusape Civil Magistrate Court, accusing her of breaching her peace.

She was, however, ordered by magistrate, Mr Tapiwa Kuhudzayi to observe peace with Happiness Nyakuedzwa when he delivered a reciprocal peace order this week.

Early last year, Albert Nyakuedzwa took Mhondiwa to court, accusing her of harassing him after he ended an extra marital affair between the two.

Mhondiwa, according to Albert Nyakuedzwa could not stomach the rejection and started harassing him, prompting the politician to seek recourse from the courts.

Rusape magistrate, Ms Rufaro Mangwiro granted the peace order to Albert Nyakuedzwa which is valid for a year.

Mhondiwa was also ordered to pay $10 000 as surety that she will abide by the order.

In this recent court battle, Mhondiwa who was a self-actor applied that Happiness Nyakuedzwa be barred from visiting her house, mentioning her name in public and insulting her.

“I am applying for a peace order against the respondent who is persecuting me, thereby disturbing my peace. The respondent is in the habit of verbally insulting me with obscene and unprintable words in public, even in front of party members whenever I met her (sic).

“On December 12, 2022, for reasons better known to her, she started shouting at me at our party meeting. She started shouting at me using vulgar words, harasses me, calling me a prostitute in the presence of other party members and threatened me with unspecified actions,” reads part of the application.

Happiness Nyakuedzwa who was represented by Mr Kelvin Manyengavana of Manyengavana Law Chambers opposed the application, arguing that Mhondiwa was stung by being rejected by her husband, hence the application.

“The applicant had an adulterous relationship with my husband, which I came to know of sometime last year. My husband ended the extra-marital affair, but this did not go down well with the applicant. This peace order has instituted to spite me and my husband.

“I aver that I never confronted the applicant as alleged, but she is the one who has been aggressive to me on the social media and feeding false information to the media, bend on tarnishing my image. I would not object to the court granting a reciprocal peace order against both parties,” reads part of Happiness Nyakuedzwa’s application.

Mr Kuhudzayi ruled that both parties must observe peace by avoiding each other for the next 12 months.
