A MUTAMBARA businessman is under fire from his family for allegedly murdering two people and burying the body parts of one of them under his shop to lure customers and enhance wealth.

The crime was allegedly committed in 1989.

The troubled Chinyama family recently approached Chief Mutambara, accusing Jackson Chinyama of being a ritual murderer.

They accused Jackson of killing his brother Wonder Chinyama and his neighbour only identified as Muguyo.

Some claim that Wonder took his own life after being pressurised to do so by Jackson.

The Chinyamas are claiming that avenging spirits of the two men, whose blood was shed to enhance Jackson’s business, are now tormenting them and wreaking havoc in the family.

Acting on Chief Mutambara’s order, faith healers consulted by the family members retrieved strange paraphernalia under Jackson’s bed in Muchakaraga Village.

The object – believed to be the blood sucking goblin behind a spate of deaths and misfortunes in the family — had hair and blood wrapped in a black cloth. More strange stuff was dug from Jackson’s homestead.

The drama unfolded last week on Sunday in the full glare of people who had thronged the Chinyama homestead to witness the event.

Zion church prophet, Dennis Changa Mhlanga led the faith healers who are expected to perform another witch hunting session at Chinyama’s shop where human body parts are believed to have been buried.

The faith healers will get two beasts for their services.

Members of the Muguyo family, who were also present during the court session, confirmed the murder of their patriarch.

They said his remains were found dumped in a disused toilet pit with missing private parts.

On the other hand, Wonder’s avenging spirit is manifesting through Maria Mapimbiro, a daughter-in-law.

The spirit insists that Wonder committed suicide as he was being tormented by his brother’s goblins.

“I killed myself after an evil spirit had been cast on me by Jackson. The evil spirit influenced me to take my own life because I had had enough. His business progressed and he gained more wealth at the expense of my family.

‘‘He used me to bed my own daughters spiritually. Each time I became spiritually intimate with my daughters, Jackson would accrue more money and customers,” claimed the spirit.

“My daughters’ marriages crumbled while some never got married due to my brother’s wizardly. I could not do it anymore and took my own life,” said the spirit.

However, Jackson professed ignorance over all the allegations.

“I am not a wizard. My brother committed suicide and that had nothing to do with me. Evil spirits influenced him to commit suicide but the evil spirits do not belong to me, rather they belong to the devil. I had absolutely nothing to do with his suicide,” he said.

He, however, remained tight-lipped over the paraphernalia recovered from his bedroom.
