A CHIPINGE man allegedly overdosed on Viagra, some sex enhancing tablets, and died before he could get intimate with his lover, The Weekender has learnt.

It has emerged that Charles Chikandiwa collapsed and died while relieving himself moments before having quality time with his 52-year-old lover.

Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Norbert Muzondo confirmed Chikandiwa’s death and said investigations to establish what happened on the fateful day are in progress.

It is alleged that Chikandiwa of Chipinge’s Low Density parked his vehicle near Budzi River to relieve himself.

He, however, collapsed.

His lover, only identified as Agnes, rushed to make a police report before Chikandiwa was rushed to Chipinge District Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

“Chikandiwa picked a woman who resides in Gaza suburb and drove to a Chipinge Farm. He parked his vehicle near Budzi River to relieve himself. While outside the vehicle, he started groaning then collapsed.

“Agnes rushed to the police and they attended the scene. Chikandiwa was taken to Chipinge District Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival,” said Inspector Muzondo.

However, word doing rounds in Chipinge suggests that Chikandiwa consumed an overdose of sex-enhancing pills, Viagra.

“We understand that he had driven to the secluded place for some quality time with his girlfriend. We also learnt that the girlfriend was chased away by Chikandiwa’s relatives from his funeral. We knew him as a very nice person who transformed the district as a manager of a certain parastatal. Despite being polygamous, he had other several side chicks,” said a Chipinge resident who requested anonymity.

A relative who also requested anonymity said Chikandiwa collapsed near a local lodge along the Chipinge-Mt Selinda Road.

“He was well and did not show any signs of illness.

‘‘He reportedly left home a healthy man, personally driving his car. We thought he had just collapsed and would regain consciousness, but he failed to make it. Our relative collapsed in the company of a girlfriend and we chased her away from his funeral,” said the relative.

Chikandiwa was laid to rest at his rural home in Wedza, Mashonaland East, early this week.
