Two Mutare Mega Market Covid-19 cases in isolation

TWO Covid-19 cases detected at Mutare food manufacturing and packaging concern, Mega Market, have since been placed into isolation and the premises thoroughly disinfected.

In a statement, company managing director Mr Shiraan Ahmed said the source of infection has since been identified.

“Mega Market (Pvt) Ltd wishes to inform the public that on July 23, 2020, two staff members tested positive for Covid-19 at its industrial site. Initially, one case had been identified, with further 99 tests revealing an additional case while 98 tested negative.
Both positive cases are showing mild symptoms and have since been isolated. In line with WHO guidelines and indeed our country’s thrust in fighting Covid-19, contact tracing was done immediately. The source of the infection has since been identified,” reads part of the company statement.

“Furthermore, the premises have been thoroughly disinfected to keep all staff, customers, suppliers, transporters and stakeholders safe. We would like to assure the public that we are taking every precaution to protect their health and well being.”
