The best trousers for women

Ann Ruthenburg —
Hello there folks, hope this holiday season has been good and restful. After writing about the best trousers for men to wear, I have had many me saying I need to write about the best trousers for women. I have done this before months ago, but I guess many missed it.

For women it is easier to deal with body types when dealing with the best way to dress them. Unfortunately that always takes me at least three weeks to go through all the body shapes. I will do that in the first few months of next year, but for this article I will concentrate on the basic shapes.

If you are a Plus Size body shape, as in someone who wears size 38 and over, go for a wide-leg hem to balance you out. It will make you look sleek from thigh to ankle. Wear suiting material or solid material for trousers. Stay away from thin trousers material or tight fitting material.

Remember this is not Bollywood, Hollywood, Nollywood or even Zimbowood. We live in the real world, with a society that is not forgiving when it comes to dressing disrespectfully, so wearing tight fitting pants that reveal everything is not acceptable.

Less pockets and less pleats are best for the plus size person.

If you are a lady with a boy-shaped body, go for pants with a nipped waist, it will make you look like you have hips.

You can wear though any type of trousers, but slim fits are better for you than baggy trousers if you love your body shape.

Trousers with draw string are great for looking like you have hips. If you’re boy-shaped…a slender high-waisted style gives you shape also.

Your body shape is made for skin tights, fitting trousers and the like. But please be respectful when you wear tight fitting clothing. Just because you have very little shape, does not mean you can show off every part of your body.

Pleated trousers will look good on you, as well as trousers with pockets.

If you are tall, go for prints and colors on top, and feel free to roll up hems.

It’s a winning combo on your long legs. Gentle flare trousers are your menswear go-to cut.

Also go for straight leg cut trousers in longer seams. Also go for soft, simple contours which will always look great on tall people.

If you are petite go for super-skinny styles that lend the illusion of more height. However if you are petite and shape then stay away from super skinny.

High heels will give you and added advantage.

Bold colors will add instant height.

Cargo pants are a petite persons best friend, they suit you perfectly if not too baggy. Tailored trousers is also great for petite people.
