Robbers get away with $2 000 goods

TEN armed robbers pounced on Ray Shower Company in Nenhowe village under Chief Mutambara where they assaulted two security guards on duty before disappearing with a wheelbarrow, electric motor, gas cylinder, four swerving chairs.

All stolen goods are confirmed by the police to be worth RTGS $2 000.

Manicaland police confirmed the incident  and said the security guard was left injured.

The robbers, were armed with machetes and iron rods.

Manicaland provincial police spokesman Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa said:  “One of the robbers hit Godfrey Mutako one of the security guards in the head before the other robbers tied him up with a rope. James Muchirawata another guard escaped from the scene before he was harmed by the robbers,” said Kakohwa.

After the robbery, Godfrey managed to untie himself and went towards the village where he met Kudakwashe Nenhohwe a local villager and narrated the incident.

Godfrey and Kudakwashe then reported the matter at Nyanyadzi police station.

“Godfrey, who sustained a swollen leg and a deep head cut was taken to Mutambara Hospital for treatment,” said Insp Kakohwa, adding that the suspects were still at large and investigations were underway.
