THE stage has been set for Mutare’s biggest show ever, as energetic South-African music goddess, Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, popularly known as Makhadzi, is scheduled to perform at Manicaland Motoring Club tomorrow (Friday).

Weekender Entertainment has gathered that Makhadzi is expected to arrive in Mutare on Friday morning, while the rest of the artistes billed to perform at the mega fiesta will storm the venue during the course of the day.

On Tuesday, the organiser of the event, Partson Chimboza of Chipaz Promotions said all was in place for the gig.

He also warned fun lovers to be wary of fraudsters who may be selling fake tickets. Fun lovers will be guarded by strong, yet innocuous barricades that will separate the standard, VIP and VVIP sections, while security personnel is expected to provide protection to revellers in each of the sections.

The most expensive ticket will cost US$2 000 for a table of 10. This will be a corporate package where a company will get a designated area where they can display their products.

Under this package, revellers will have greater access to performing artiste as well as complementary drinks, including whisky, among other privileges.

A VVIP ticket will cost US$50, while a VIP ticket will cost US$20.

A standard ticket will go for US$10. The event starts at 4pm till the next morning.

Zim-dancehall artiste, Killer T; talented singer, Andy Muridzo; hip-hop artiste, Voltz JT; as well as Chillspot’s duo, Levels and Fantan will be the supporting acts. Killer T, who has performed at the venue before, will present his new nine-track album, ‘Tiri Vemumastreets’ to Mutare, while Andy Muridzo is expected to send fans into delirium as he performs at the venue for the first time.

Mutare-based artistes who are scheduled to be part of the festivities are Caff, Assegai Crew, Expression Band, Sunrise Band, Silver Vee and Candyman.

Confirming the show, Makhadzi posted on her Facebook page saying: “My Zimbabwe Fam, please come party with me this Friday.”

Several other musicians, including Killer T, Andy Muridzo and Caff, posted videos on social media endorsing the gig. Chimboza, fondly known as Chipaz, said preparations are at an advanced stage.

“Those who have already purchased advanced tickets should come and redeem them from the venue today (Thursday). From Friday, tickets will be available at the venue. A ticket has a number that tallies with your phone number, so if one buys from elsewhere, there won’t be any a number to tally with. We subsequently continue to urge people not fall to prey to bogus merchants.

“We are happy with the response we have received so far and we would like to assure revellers of maximum security. All artistes billed to perform will have ample time on stage as the show is starting early and is expected to end in the wee hours of Saturday,” said Chipaz. Makhadzi, whose energy and verve on stage is unmatched, has a rich discography and some of her popular songs include ‘Murahu’, ‘Mjolo’, ‘Energy’, ‘Ghanama’ and the anthemic ‘Magear’.
