IT’S a potentially scintillating clash of the uniformed forces tomorrow (Saturday) at Sakubva Stadium where correctional services outfit, Tenax C.S lock horns with Black Rhinos in a Castle Lager Premiership League tie.
The match starts at 3pm.
While Tenax C.S suffered a morale sapping 1-3 drubbing at the hands of Yadah Stars at Sakubva Stadium in MatchDay 13 round of league fixtures, Black Rhinos settled for a goalless stalemate against Harare City FC in Harare during the same weekend.
Black Rhinos might have dominated the two teams’ previous encounters, especially during last year’s Chibuku Super Cup matches, but both teams surely understand that tomorrow’s clash is a different ball game altogether.
More so, for Tenax C.S FC, the Mutare prison wardens are no longer the nervy new-boys they were back then after finding their feet in this competitive league.
However, Chauya Chikara, as Tenax C.S are fondly referred to by their growing fan base, have also had their moments of misery and only last weekend they suffered a 1-3 defeat at home against Yadah Stars.
No wonder their coach, Shadreck ‘Father’ Mugurasave, in a post-match interview, said: “It was a bad day in office and we did not come to the party. Our opponents showed more desire and deservedly won the match. Maybe the break over the Easter holidays disturbed our rhythm, but we will continue working hard on our shortcomings to improve our game.”
However, Mugurasave is happy with the progress that the team has made so far.
“Yes, generally I am happy with the progress we have made as a team judging from where we started, but l am particularly not happy with Yadah FC match result. While I thought we played well, we gave away soft goals,” said the former Buffaloes player and coach.
In a telephone interview from his Harare base, Black Rhinos secretary, Edward Mutukwa said he is expecting a highly entertaining and competitive encounter against Tenax C.S, given the improvement of both teams. He made a passionate appeal for fans to take time to throng Sakubva Stadium to watch the match.
“In fact, I expect the match to be of high standard since the two clubs have improved a lot from the sides that played in the Chibuku Super Cup.
“As usual, our aim us to collect maximum points and climb higher on the log and be with the big boys, that is where we belong. As usual, I am appealing for fans to come out in their numbers and support Chauya Chipembere. We need to bring yesteryears glory to the club,” said Mutukwa.
