A COMBINED total of over 200 000 people in Manicaland had by yesterday received their first and second doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
According to figures released today by Mutare City Council and obtained from the Ministry of Health and Child Care, 120 124 people had taken the first jab while 80 435 had been inoculated with the second dose.
In Mutare only, 26 629 people have been vaccinated for the first dose and 16 932 have received the second jab.
The Sinopharm vaccine first dose is available in all council health facilities and at Meikles Park while the second dose for both Sinopharm and Sinovac are available at all council clinics, Mutare City Council have said.
They encouraged eligible individuals (all those above the age of 18, expect pregnant women and critically ill individuals) as well as those that have suffered from Covid-19 and recovered to get vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Manicaland recorded 184 new cases yesterday, an increase by 52 from the 132 reported on Monday. 14 of these cases were recorded in Mutare. A single death, which occurred in Mutare, was recorded in the province.
