ONE person died and 11 others were seriously injured after a Smart Express Bus on Thursday last week side swiped a VW Golf and veered off the road before hitting a pedestrian.
Police confirmed the accident which happened along Mutare-Masvingo highway.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa said the driver of the South Africa-bound bus which was carrying 51 passengers lost control and hit pedestrian Sundai Mawocha who died on the spot.
The VW Golf which was heading to Mutare also veered off the road and overturned.
Passers by rendered assistance and rushed the injured to Mutare Provincial Hospital.
