ZANU PF Makoni District Coordinating Committee chairman Cde Albert Nyakuedzwa’s extramarital affair has spilled into the public arena following a spectacular fallout with his girlfriend, Ms Tariro Faith Mhondiwa.

The case is now before the courts.

Cde Nyakuedzwa, who is married to Zanu-PF Manicaland provincial chairlady Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa, has allegedly been dating Ms Mhondiwa since 2020.

Ms Mhondiwa is a nurse working for Rusape Town Council.

The two lovebirds were cohabiting at Ms Mhondiwa’s lodgings in Castle Base, Rusape, but Cde Nyakuedzwa has since packed his bags and returned to his family, a decision which he said had enraged his ex-girlfriend.

To show how serious and determined he was to leave Ms Mhondiwa, Cde Nyakuedzwa has since approached the Rusape Civil Court applying for a peace order against his former sweetheart.

Cde Nyakuedzwa, who is represented by Mr Walter Mangwende of Chigadza and Associates, claimed in his papers that he no longer loved Ms Mhondiwa whom he described as violent.

“The respondent is Tariro Faith Mhondiwa. Tariro is a person I was having an affair with. The respondent frequently locks me inside the house and opens it after four to five hours and then threatens to burn me inside the house.

“Tariro also becomes violent as she throws water glasses at me. She further threatens to kill me and she promised to look for people who will gun me down. She texts and calls me shouting and has threatened to kill me. I no longer want to have an affair with Tariro,” declared Cde Nyakuedzwa.

The matter is set to be heard today (Friday) and by yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, Ms Mhondiwa had not yet filled her opposing papers.
