THE price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has dropped in US$ and marginally increased in local currency after the latest review by Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA).

A kg of LP gas now costs US$1,88, down from US$2,02, while the price in local currency is now pegged at $1 078,09 from $930,96.

The prices were last reviewed last month.

ZERA announced the new LP gas prices for September in a notice to the public this morning.

“Stakeholders are advised that the LPG prices for September, calculated according to the Petroleum (Liquid Petroleum Gas Pricing) Regulations 90 of 2021 are as follows: US$1,88 per kg and $1 078,09 per kg.

“Operators are advised to display the prices at their retail outlets at a prominent place in clearly legible letters. Please, note that it is permissible to sell LPG at prices below the prescribed prices depending on one’s trading advantages,” reads the notice.
